Moving the world’s business requires precision, capability, and care. The logistics sector works 24×7 to power supply chains, and to ensure the economy is always pushing ahead. Taking time out to come together, share best practices, and discuss trends becomes crucial to ensure the logistics ecosystem is in sync with the requirements of industries, and those of the future. To enable this synergy of thought, Allcargo Group was the presenting sponsor for the 13th edition of Maritime And Logistics Awards (MALA) 2023, held in Mumbai recently.
An event that stands head and shoulders above the rest, MALA through its rigorous standards of recognition and evaluation has become a platform for thought leadership and knowledge sharing for the logistics sector in India, where industry leaders, visionaries, and trailblazers converge to celebrate achievements, share insights, and set new standards of excellence.
Setting the sustainability agenda
At this year’s event, Allcargo Group’s Founder and Chairman, Mr. Shashi Kiran Shetty, set the tone for the event when he shared a keynote address on sustainability – an important focus area for the industry.
With the shipping industry contributing to 3% greenhouse emissions globally, it is essential that all players in the eco-system take a strong stance in alignment with International Maritime Organization’s new climate strategy to reach net-zero emissions by around 2050. In this regard, Allcargo has been making significant headway. Having embarked on a focused ESG journey last year, which included onboarding a third-party expert and an ESG software tool to provide quantitative insights, this year the logistics major has announced its goal to be carbon neutral by 2040. Speaking at the event, Mr Shetty emphasised on Allcargo’s culture of care that is the guiding force behind the various initiatives in the Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) domain that are currently underway across Allcargo’s global network of 180 countries.
Recognition where its due
Further, recognising the prowess in providing single-window integrated logistics services across India, Allcargo Group received two awards.
The newly listed Allcargo Terminals Limited was conferred the award for Best CFS Operator Pan India in recognition of its world-class services, customer centric approach, and digital solutions that enables seamless supply chains for businesses. Its user friendly myCFS portal enables contact-less, end-to-end CFS services like export and import document uploads, updates on service requests, advance information to speed up turnaround times, etc., in just a few clicks.
Further, with on-demand logistics that is just a click away being the ask of businesses, Allcargo was ahead of the curve in sharpening it’s digital focus. Through proprietary tools such as the state-of-the-art ECU360 that provides instant quotes, quotes for cross-trade, easy access to sailing and departure schedules, tracking and tracing, and more, Allcargo provides cutting edge solutions for seamless global cargo movements. In recognition of his efforts in leading such innovation across the organization, which is also enabling the wider logistics ecosystem to digitalize and empowering even small players with digital solutions, Vaishnav Shetty – Chief Digital Officer and Executive Director, Allcargo Group, was conferred with the Rising Digital Star Award. Driven by a will to power innovation across the industry and build maturity in the supply chain ecosystem, he also spearheads the organization’s collaboration with startups in the logistics sector. He leads the new cell for the incubation, acceleration, and investments in startups, which leverages partnerships amongst startup platforms in India, global VCs, and universities.
Thought leadership, innovation and collaboration being crucial to build synergies, and recognition reaffirming and encouraging best practices, powering events such as MALA always helps to bring the industry closer.
