On occasion of Agriculture Day farmers were made aware of the modern farming techniques which will enhance their knowledge and help them increase the income.
Avashya Foundation in collaboration with Savali an NGO which has been working in the model village has celebrated Agricultural Day at Maldhunge Group Grampanchayat, Maldunge, Panvel Block of Raigad district of Maharashtra. Around 85 farmers were briefed on adopting modern agricultural techniques for increasing crop yield so that income of the farmers would increase. One of the challenges was marketing of the produce. Farmers were informed on strategies of marketing and keeping the cost of travelling down by adopting cooperative models of farming.
Agricultural officials were invited who provided the much needed guidance to the farmers. They also got to know about the various government schemes that they can avail.
