Allcargo’s move to uplift Manual scavengers is a unique intervention, where 40 scavengers will be trained at Allcargo’s Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendra in Uran, to make them self-reliant and change their lives.
Despite the introduction of several mechanised systems for sewage cleaning, human intervention in the process still continues. Allcargo with Logistics Sector Council (LSC) under the scheme of NSKFDC is taking first step to skill the Manual scavengers through our expertise in the growing logistics sector. Allcargo received the sanction letter form LSC for training 40 manual scavengers in the first stage to begin with. Allcargo is going to train 40 such workers or their dependents to bring the change into their lives by providing them short term training of 3 months with sensitization , skill building and making them independent by providing them wage / self-employment with the local government assistance.
Allcargo is going to train them in Warehouse Picker or packer or relevant course training as per their interest area/ location and convenient timings. Allcargo has started the work of approaching the relevant authorities for connecting with the beneficiaries to aware, train and make them self-reliant.
