Under the initiative of Jeevan Coping with Cancer, Avashya Foundation has supported thousands of cancer patients by providing Chemotherapy and medicines to the people in need. This project has commenced in Hyderabad under GATI CSR initiaves.
GATI Limited has started Jeevan Coping with Cancer project in Hyderabad in March 2021 supporting the economically backward families whose children are affected by Retinoblastoma which accounts for 2.5-4% of all childhood cancers mostly below 15 years in India.
GATI limited works in partnership with Foundation of His Sacred Majesty and L V Prasad Eye Institute and has been supporting patients who are unable to afford the cost of Retinoblastoma chemotherapy. The treatment is led by Dr.Swati Kaliki, Head of the Department – Oculoplasty, L V Prasad Eye Institute by providing chemotherapy in 12 cycles. Majority of the beneficiaries are from Hyderabad, and the rest from other parts of Telangana state and other states of India.
