Allcargo Logistics supports patients from marginalised communities with medication.
COVID-19 has disrupted all our lives. But for those who are already suffering from other ailments, especially those from marginalised communities, the pandemic has been an agonizingly painful experience.
Timely access to medicines and treatment is necessary for them to recuperate, the absence of which can even affect their chances of survival. With hospitals teeming with COVID-19 patients, the treatment of patients for other ailments was significantly affected. To support such individuals from marginalised communities, especially those who need uninterrupted supply of medication to recover, Allcargo Logistics under the Jeevan Project, helped patients of Lokmanya Tilak Municipal General Hospital in Sion, Mumbai to access medical treatment.
Of the 94 patients supported in April 2021, a significant bulk of them needed help with medication only, while a few also needed support with medical investigations and operations. Patients also received counselling and awareness was created on COVID-19 as well.
In these difficult times, Avashya Foundation believes it is our duty to help those in need.
