PV Sindhu – the only Indian woman to win two medals at the Olympics

2 time Olympics medal winner, PV Sindhu has been nurtured by Olympic Gold Quest, Avashya Foundation’s partner NGO.

PV Sindhu made the entire nation proud by winning the Bronze medal for India in Badminton Women’s Singles at the Tokyo Olympics. Sindhu became the first Indian woman to win two Olympic medals and only the second Indian to achieve this feat. She beat China’s He Bingjiao 21-13, 21-15 to win the Bronze medal for India.

Avashya Foundation works to empower youth through sports. Olympic Gold Quest, our partner NGO, supported by Avashya Foundation, nurtures talented sportspersons to achieve sporting glory. Olympic Gold Quest has been supporting Sindhu since the time she was 14 years old.

Her growth as one of India’s most successful Olympic athletes is truly incredible. 12 years back, Olympic Gold Quest had supported Sindhu by providing her the necessary exposure for international tournaments and sports science support.

Post her Silver medal win at the Rio Olympics, Olympic Gold Quest, has supported her with a personal physiotherapist, personal strength & conditioning trainer, medical and nutritional supplements and full-fledged gym equipment at home to continue her fitness regime even during the pandemic.

Sindhu’s win is a combined effort by her parents, coaches, Sports Authority of India, TOPS, Badminton Association of India, her support staff and Olympic Gold Quest. Sindhu has made every Indian proud and she inspires millions of young Indians to dream big.

We at Avashya Foundation are proud of PV Sindhu for winning laurels for India, and of our partner, Olympic Gold Quest for nurturing such wonderful talent.
