Allcargo Logistics’s Drushti programme helps people see better.
Drushti is an ongoing project supported by Allcargo Logistics, which is being implemented through partnerships with various non-profit organizations and healthcare service providers in the Mumbai region.
Its main aim is to identify eye ailments, provide help with treatment and corrective surgery, and create more awareness on the importance of eye care to avert issues with vision. Towards this end, in the months of August, September and October 2021, 7 eye camps were organized in different parts of Mumbai. Senior citizens, children in the age group of 3 to 16, and women were the main beneficiaries.
Over the last three months, the project has created significant impact, positively touching the lives of over 1,410 people from underprivileged communities in Mumbai. Of these, 1,221 persons with refractive errors were identified and have been provided with spectacles, 48 investigations were carried out and 48 persons with cataract were identified for surgeries. 24 surgeries have been carried out and the remaining will soon be executed.
Enabling someone to see the world is truly an experience we are grateful for and it only strengthens our resolve to do more for those who are in need.
