The (KGUC) Konkan Gyanpeeth Uran College of Commerce and Arts has always been a relatively small college functioning in the semi-urban area of Uran district, Raigad since 1989 and is affiliated with the University of Mumbai. Before 1989 there were no facilities for higher education in Uran Tahsil. As Hon’ble Shri P.N.Dharkar, Chairman of Konkan Gyanpeeth and Ex-minister of Higher and Technical Education, established a multi-faculty college at Uran to make up for this deficiency.
We at Avashya Foundation, have always worked for the skilled and curriculum development of the college. Standing true to our commitment, we have signed the MOU (Memorandum of Understanding), with Konkan Gyanpeeth Uran College on May 6, 2022, at our JNPT Office, Nhava Sheva. The agreement was signed between JNPT, CIDCO, Allcargo skill centre, and KDS college in presence of Shri. Unmesh Wagh IRS Deputy Chairman, JNPT, Shri Jaywant Dhawale Chief Manager JNPT, Mrs. Manisha Jadhav Manager JNPT, and college principal Mr. Gaikwad and Professor Mr. Sharma. With this new agreement, we have the inclusion of skills training program in the college curriculum, even for last year’s students and to promote awareness and capacity building of each student through skill development and also through mobilization support from the college.
