Our CSR initiatives have extended beyond philanthropy and have always endeavoured for what is more people-centric and inclusive. Nipun – our skill development training initiative, in collaboration with the Foundation of His Sacred Majesty (FHSM), is enabling women to achieve their dreams, giving them new hope.
Here are the untold stories of four inspiring women, who, with the support of Nipun, created pathways to grow and succeed.
Breaking barriers with Pavithra S
When meeting the basic needs was a challenge, Pavithra found herself as the sole hope for her struggling family. With no properties to their name, they resided in a rented house, surviving on meager earnings. After completing her 12th standard, Pavithra aimed to alleviate her mother’s burden by finding a job. Through a mobilization program, she joined the training course, eager to learn new skills and gain employment.
She acquired technical knowledge, including MS Office, retail management, and communication skills. Her transformation was remarkable, as she improved her communication skills and gained confidence. Today, Pavithra works as a pharmacy assistant, supporting her family and paving the way for a brighter future.
Shaping a new path with Jayalakshmi K
Jayalakshmi, hailing from a middle-class family, faced numerous challenges. She aspired to pursue higher studies, but her family’s limitations restricted her ambitions. However, she joined the training program, got lessons in English, gathered system knowledge, and personality development training, transforming her into a confident individual.
She actively participated in workshops and guest lectures, honing her skills. She works at Shriram Finance Limited, impressing her employer with her punctuality and dedication. Her income not only supports her family but also fuels her pursuit of higher education.
Uncertainty to empowerment and motivation with Saranya S
Saranya’s socially and economically backward background put her at a disadvantage. With her father working for daily wages and her mother being a homemaker, the burden of supporting the family fell on her shoulders. Despite holding a B. Com degree, she lacked guidance in choosing a career path. Through the training program, Saranya acquired life skills, career guidance, and system knowledge, boosting her confidence, and secured a job as a Financial Associate.
Standing tall against all odds with R. Bhuvaneswari
The absence of her father posed numerous challenges for R. Bhuvaneswari. Despite completing her B.Sc in Physics, her financial constraints hindered her progress. However, it is through the training program, she focused on Tally, retail, and system knowledge. She developed her skills through training and with her newfound confidence, Bhuvaneswari secured employment and contributes to her family’s financial stability.
