Seeds sown today, for a flourishing harvest of tomorrow

For the past few years, we have been working closely with farmers enabling them with bountiful harvests as an additional source of livelihood, under Maitree – our unique initiative to green the earth’s cover.

Avashya Foundation, our CSR arm collaborated with Savali, our NGO partner to distribute seeds to the tribal farmers of Lahan Dhamani, Mothi Dhamani, and Haushichi Wadi villages in Panvel, Maharashtra, India.

The seed distribution process was followed by pit digging in the areas, as farmers and experienced members collaborated to ensure a well-suited layout for each of the orchards. Each pit was carefully prepared, considering the unique requirements of different species of fruit trees.

With the successful completion of the pit-digging phase, comes tree planting, mulching, and implementing irrigation systems. Farmers were provided with the necessary guidelines and resources to ensure proper care and maintenance of these orchards. A mixed range of 11 species of trees were planted to promote environmental biodiversity in these regions.

In the years to come, these seeds will grow into fruit-bearing trees, securing the local ecosystem, and providing an alternate source of livelihood for farmers.

We are relentlessly working to replenish the earth’s green cover and have so far planted over 860,000 fruit-bearing trees.
