While education is a must, it is no secret that most of one’s life’s learning happens outside the classroom. And those who have access to a library have a head start over others – after all knowledge is power.
To empower children around Allcargo’s facilities in Uran, Maharashtra, we recently launched our second, School Library Program at Zilla Parishad School, Vindhane village in Uran, in association with Zilla Parishad, Raigad.
Students from local primary and high schools attended the inauguration and were eager to go through the books. Along with dignitaries from the Education Department of Raigad, Principals and teachers from six schools, team members from Allcargo were also present at the launch.
This initiative aspires to encourage a culture of reading to enhance knowledge and confidence among children at an early stage. Reading, supplemented with regular classroom education, can be a powerful force in a student’s life. It also encourages students to independently research – a skill that is extremely valuable as they get older.
