Empowered women are not just beneficiaries; they are catalysts for progress towards an inclusive and well-adjusted society. With the aim to support, empower, and help create a livelihood for women from underserved backgrounds, Allcargo Terminals Limited launched a project in partnership with Sankalp Manav Vikas Sanstha in Uran block of Raigad district in Maharashtra, creating textile-based livelihood skills, and promoting self-reliance for these women.
A detailed needs analysis was carried out to identify the right candidates, which included assessing the specific needs and requirements of the community and understanding the aspirations and interests of women. Textile based livelihood focuses on making quality training accessible to the women and shape entrepreneur journey of women.
Subsequently, 100 women completed the training in 2023, and received certifications in a passing-out ceremony on 6th February 2024, at the Allcargo Development Centre at Uran.
