Bonding over golf in Singapore

ECU Worldwide organised a friendly golf tournament in Singapore for its top customers at Sentosa Golf Club, one of the top-five championship courses in Asia, on February 10, 2018. ‘Perfect Golf’ was just the right kick-off to connect with the clients at the beginning of the year. The senior management team — Chairman Shashi Kiran Shetty, Joint Managing Director Adarsh Hegde, CEO Claudio Scandella along with the APAC team of Uday Shetty, Brahmananda Sharma and Kunal Awasthy welcomed the guests. Mr Shetty conveyed his best wishes for the upcoming year and thanked them for their long-standing association with ECU and for attending the event. The participants teed off in the afternoon after lunch. Engaging in a round of healthy competition, Mr Shin Kim, Regional MD, HMM; Mr Dh Oh, MD, HMM; Mr Eddie Lee, CEO, Westports and Mr Jason Wong, COO, APL emerged as the winners.

The evening saw everyone unwind onboard a yacht, One Marina, which took the attendees for a gentle cruise on the tranquil waters of the river. The attendees were treated to sumptuous western and oriental cuisines. As a token of appreciation, all guests were presented with certificates bearing a commitment that five trees were planted in the honour of each of them at the Sunderbans forest in India. The trees were planted in partnership with Grow-Trees — an organisation which works towards preserving the environment by addressing problems of deforestation and global warming through an idea as simple as tree plantation.

The calm seas, open deck and the setting sun cast a mesmerising effect on the attendees. They had an evening that they would cherish for a long time.

APAC Sales Meet in Vietnam

APAC Sales Meet in Vietnam

The APAC Sales Meeting, 2018 was held at the exotic destination of Da Nang, Vietnam. An HR initiative for engagement of the sales teams, the agenda for the 3-day meeting which began on 31st January was training, rewards and recognition, and personal interaction with colleagues from different parts of the region.

The theme of the conference was ACE — Align, Collaborate and Execute. The objective was to start the year on a high note of collaboration — to regroup, review and re-energise the way ahead. Mr Uday Shetty, RCEO, APAC opened the event with a high voltage ACE video and apprised the participants of APAC’s progress so far and his vision for 2018. It was followed by engaging presentations by Sales Managers from the APAC countries. For this year, the primary focus was to be on knowledge sharing and learning from each other. Hence, most of the presentation slides focused on best practices of the respective countries and a case study to highlight how they dealt with a unique issue and resolved it.
The next day was dedicated to sales coaching, and renowned author and motivational speaker Mr Tom Abbott conducted a highly engaging training session. The participants learnt some practical tips and self-motivation ideas which were presented in a lively manner. A team building session at the beachfront garden area followed the tea break. The activity was thoroughly engaging and stimulated the participants physically and mentally, presenting them with an opportunity to know each other’s strengths and weaknesses. The ballroom was the venue for the evening which witnessed the awards ceremony, followed by a Vietnamese local market-themed gala dinner.
Ms Sara D’Anzeo began the next day with a presentation on Trans-Atlantic/Trans-Pacific Trade-lane Management. Subsequently, Mr Camilo Quintero and Ms Diana Bharucha came on stage and stressed on ACEing the technological wave within the company with particular focus on CRM and other IT tools. Once the countries finished their presentations, the country managers summed up the learnings from the three-day conference in a short presentation, wishing all the participants the best in ACEing the challenges ahead!
