ECU shines at Jakarta Asian Games 2018 As official logistics partners for the Asian Games 2018 hosted by Jakarta, ECU’s Team Indonesia turned in a stellar performance to manage the end-to-end operations for the big sporting event

Right from shipping in the torch for the opening ceremony to re-exporting all the oversized equipment to the respective countries after the closing ceremony, the Asian Games 2018 were always a big logistical challenge. And as the official sports logistics partners for the Games, ECU Worldwide Indonesia rose to the challenge, to smoothly and successfully execute the logistical operations for the mega sporting event.

The global logistics major with a strong presence in Indonesia cleared over 150 tonnes of air freight cargo and over 150 containers in just seven days to ensure smooth movement of goods to, from and within Indonesia.

The successful conclusion of the Jakarta edition of the Games is a momentous occasion for ECU Worldwide Indonesia, having worked relentlessly to facilitate the smooth transport of goods, equipment and props for various sporting events at the Asian Games 2018.

Working alongside Indonesia Asian Games Organising Committee (INASGOC) and Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), ECU Worldwide Indonesia took care of several logistics aspects comprising freight logistics, temporary imports, shipments under ATA Carnet, the closing ceremony logistics and re-exports of the entire event. “As a logistics company company providing indigenous solutions to companies across the world, we are truly delighted to have partnered for this prestigious event. The ECU unit, which included senior team members Adith, Hakim, Anissa, Retno and Lusiana, worked round the clock across venues — from the hub in ECU’s Jakarta office to the airport, sea port and the INASGOC office to ensure smooth clearance and transit of cargo. “Our entire team worked hands-on through the Games and we are proud that we played a key role in smooth organising of the Games,” said Mr Merikzon, adding that besides Jakarta, the team also mobilised its agent network in Palembang, the other major venue of the Asian Games 2018 to efficiently handle the local sports logistics.
