Allcargo Logistics featured in ‘India’s most responsible companies’ by CNBC TV18 CNBC TV 18 is hosting a show titled ‘India’s most responsible companies’ which aims to spread awareness about the contributions made by Indian corporates in the area of social welfare. Allcargo Logistics was featured in the episode aired on 23rd June, 2018, which saw key members of the management team, in separate interviews, throwing light on the various initiatives executed by Allcargo Logistics in the field of education, women empowerment, environmental sustainability, skill development and healthcare. They also highlighted their vision and dreams for the CSR initiatives of the organisation.
Shashi Kiran Shetty, chairman, spoke about the beliefs and objectives behind forming Avvashya Foundation, a trust that executes the CSR initiatives of Allcargo Logistics. He also dwelled on the philosophy of the organisation for community inclusion through its activities as well as the emphasis on fostering a culture of employee involvement in these initiatives.
Arathi Shetty, non-executive director, spoke specifically about the impact of two initiatives ‘Maitree’ and ‘Disha’. ‘Maitree’ is a flagship initiative of the company which empowers tribal communities in Maharashtra by involving them in planting trees that provide sustainable livelihood options. The ‘Disha’ programme goes beyond funding the education of children from impoverished backgrounds in Karnataka and Maharashtra. It handholds the children and provides them with opportunities for all-round development.
Nilratan Shende, deputy general manager, gave a brief account of the ‘Nipun’ initiative which is involved in enhancing the skills of young men and women in Maharashtra in association with the State Government. He elucidated about the challenges faced and the achievements of the initiative.
