A giant leap towards a strategic vision

To bolster the contract logistics business, Allcargo Logistics and ECU Worldwide recently announced a joint venture with CCI Logistics Group and Hindustan Cargo Ltd. The new entity, known as Avvashya CCI Logistics Private Limited (Avvashya CCI), brings together the Warehousing division of CCI Logistics Ltd, Hindustan Cargo Ltd and the Contract Logistics Division of Allcargo Logistics.

Avvashya CCI is a strategic leap towards strengthening and consolidating the contract logistics division with the objective of providing end-to-end logistics solutions that will deliver cost and service efficiency to customers across industries such as retail, automobile, e-commerce, engineering, pharmaceuticals and so on. The combined entity will help to create technology-enabled solutions while offering customers with over 1.5 million square feet of operating warehousing space across more than 20 strategic locations in India.

The Avvashya CCI Board will be spearheaded by Dr Shashi Kiran Shetty as its Chairman and Mr Naresh Sharma as its Managing Director. Mr Adarsh Hegde, Mr Satish Sharma and Mr MP Bansal are the other members of the Board, while Mr V Balaji takes over as the CEO — Contract Logistics and Mr Deepal Shah as the CEO – International Logistics.

Adding his thoughts on the formation of the new entity, Dr Shetty said, “The Indian logistics market is expected to grow at the rate of 6-7 per cent CAGR to USD 160 billion by 2020. The formation of ACCI paves the way to deliver excellent growth and profitability. I am confident that Avvashya CCI will bring together the strengths of all the portfolios under one unified name, which will make a powerful enterprise and create greater value for the industry at large, apart from providing value to our stakeholders.”

Since its inception, Avvashya CCI has been awarded two prestigious awards — “3PL Warehousing Company of the Year” and “Emerging Warehousing Company of the Year” at ‘Warehousing Excellence Awards, 2016′, a part of the ’10th Express, Logistics & Supply Chain Conclave’.

Avvashya CCI is geared to play an important role in offering composite services to customers in forward and backward integration logistics services. This will translate as a complete package for customers assuring them of efficient deliveries, reduced turnaround times and improved last-mile delivery.

The recently concluded edition of the 2016 Indo American Professional Golf Association (IAPGA) Golf Tour of USA was very special for ECU Worldwide and Allcargo. As the lead sponsors for this eminent event, ECU Worldwide and Allcargo extended support to young and talented golfers to showcase their skills at an international platform, as big as IAPGA.

This year’s event saw an impressive line-up of 350 professional and amateur golfers from the Indian diaspora in the US. Among the professional golfers were the likes of Amardip Singh Malik, Abhijit Singh Chadha, Deepinder Singh Kullar and Mandeo Singh Pathania who participated in the tour across eight cities in the US. What made this event even more special is that some esteemed ECU and Allcargo customers played at the events held in Los Angeles, Houston and New York.

The event in New York also hosted the Chairman of the ECU Worldwide Group, Dr Shashi Kiran Shetty, where he played and interacted with the other participants. He also expressed his appreciation to the organisers and thanked the participants and supporters for making the event a huge success.

IAPGA is an acclaimed organisation that supports golf tournaments with an aim to raise funds to enable Indian professionals to participate in the US PGA Tour Qualifying School every year. The tournament enhances golfing culture in India and encourages young talent.

The tournament this year was well-received and widely appreciated by ECU Worldwide’s customers.

With the newly acquired Central Warehousing Corporation contract to manage the container freight station (CFS) in Mundra, Gujarat, Transindia, a part of Allcargo Logistics, is all set to transform the way operations are conducted in the town. With the expertise in the field and 40 acres of space at their disposal, Transindia plans to show the world what supply chains are capable of. It plans to set new standards while scaling heights in the field of CFS.

Cutting edge technology and processes, highest priority to safety, high security standards and expertise in handling over dimensional cargo (ODC) and hazardous (HAZ) cargo are the pillars of Transindia’s plan of setting benchmarks and revolutionising the field. With a staff of trained professionals to handle freights with state-of-the-art equipment and infrastructure, Transindia aims at providing best services to its customers.

Allcargo Logistics, the parent company, is India’s largest integrated logistics player in the private sector and is also listed on BSE and NSE. It already has its presence in Nhava Sheva, Chennai, Mundra, Indore and Dadri (NCR) via Inland Container Depots (ICD) and CFS facilities.
