A New Year’s gift awaits businesses looking to leverage the stable Swedish market. Nordicon, with whom ECU Worldwide has entered into a Joint Venture (JV) to boost connectivity in Sweden, is launching a new trucking service in January 2024.
In preparation for the launch of the new domestic trucking service, Nordicon is testing and evaluating partners and business systems, to be able to offer the transport and logistics industry a stable domestic product right from the start.
Complement to ocean freight
“We are happy to broaden our range of logistics services under the neutral umbrella. It’s a win-win for businesses who get one efficient end-to-end solution for their logistics requirements. From January 2024, our clients can use our domestic transport solution. I am convinced that our clients can achieve more efficient handling through our upcoming IT solutions as well as our focus on sustainability.” says Linus Ahlm, CEO of Nordicon AB
Nordicon being the market leader in the neutral consolidation market in the Nordic region for over 20 years, the trucking service will perfectly complement the impressive ocean freight capabilities.
From its own warehouse in Gothenburg, Sweden as well as local terminals in each country, Nordicon organises the consolidation of freight to more than 500 export destinations and from more than 300 import locations around the world. Besides its core LCL business in ocean and rail and focus on direct consolidation services, Nordicon also offers Full Container Load (FCL) and a range of other transport-related services such as warehousing, air freight, and trucking.
Cargo movements simplified
Nordicon’s cutting-edge digital portal My Nordicon simplifies cargo movements by enabling online booking, rate calculation, access to consignment details, status reports, and statistics, as well as provides information on the carbon footprint of each journey.
Customers, therefore, get a seamless experience from start to finish. They have the convenience of having an expert handle their cargo movement across different transport modes – saving cost, time and effort.
Sustainability first
ESG-focused businesses aiming to reduce the carbon footprint of their supply chains stand to benefit from Nordicon’s eco-conscious stand. Nordicon is the only consolidator in the region which is ISO14001 certified, and is working towards acquiring an ISO9001 certificate. Earlier in the year, Nordicon became the first terminal to launch electric vehicles for container movements to and from Gothenburg port.
Stronger together
Through the JV with the world’s leading consolidator, ECU Worldwide, Nordicon’s customers have access to a global network operating in 180 countries, more than 2400 direct trade lanes, and door-to-door services in more than 50 global markets, while also benefitting from air freight and other value-added services like trucking in select locations.
